Are All Invitees to Biden's Democracy Summit Democratic? International Expert
International expert Suren Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page: “More than a hundred countries have been invited to Biden's Democracy Summit. Are all the invitees democratic, and is there not a geopolitical calculation at play here? There certainly is. Let me give two examples:
It’s clear, isn’t it, that when inviting Israel, at least one Arab democratic country should have been found and invited? It’s obvious how much democracy exists in Iraq and Pakistan, and how many American geopolitical interests there are in these two countries. It’s also evident that Armenia was invited to the Democracy Summit not for being a democracy that has already taken root, but for its commitment to building democracy.”
