Will the gas tariff for consumers be changed? Garegin Baghramyan elaborates
The gas tariff for consumers in Armenia will not increase from January 1, 2022. This was stated by Garegin Baghramyan, the Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly.
“I can say that the tariff for consumers will definitely not change starting January 1, as all deadlines have already passed,” said Baghramyan, referring to the timelines for the possible presentation, study, and decision-making regarding tariff changes.
However, negotiations with the Russian side concerning the price at the border are ongoing. Discussions regarding electricity are still in progress. When the commission receives final balances, it will announce them either at the end of November or the beginning of December. The electricity tariff will also depend on the outcome of the negotiations concerning the gas price at the border.
