Tigran Avinyan Lacks Professional Skills to Lead the Combine, Hakobyan Says
Tigran Avinyan lacks the professional skills to lead the combine, said Vahe Hakobyan, a member of the "Hayastan" parliamentary group, during a conversation with journalists. This comment comes in response to a media report indicating that Tigran Avinyan is expected to be appointed the director of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine.
"I have no such information; it seems to me that this is an invention of the press. As far as I know, Tigran Avinyan has no professional abilities to lead the combine. We should consider that a significant percentage of the shares in the combine belong to the 'GeoProMining' company, which means that the director will be appointed by the company," Hakobyan stated.
When asked if there could be an arrangement between 'GeoProMining' and the government on this matter, Hakobyan replied, "Since we have a logic-deficient government, I do not rule anything out, but logic and the law require the following: if the state holds a significant stake, it can be represented in the company’s council and act as an observer, notably in the financial sector."
On the question of whether there is a threat to his family’s share, considering that Nikol Pashinyan had previously stated that they would return what was 'stolen from the people', Hakobyan responded: "For three and a half years, any threat from this state has been present for me, and any such threat receives an adequate response. That will continue."
