Zuckerberg Apologizes for Social Media Outages, Reveals Cause
Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Facebook, has apologized for the outages experienced on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, stating that services have resumed operation. The disruptions were resolved shortly after midnight.
“I apologize for the outage. I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with loved ones,” Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page.
The company’s press service reported that users' personal data was not compromised due to the outages. The cause of the disruption was a configuration error in the routers responsible for managing network traffic between data processing centers.
