Emergency Situation in Yerevan: Suspicious Backpack Found Near French Embassy
An emergency incident has occurred in Yerevan. Around 10:00 PM, the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ rescue service received a call reporting a suspicious backpack near the French Embassy on Grigor Lusavorich Street.
According to shamshyan.com, operational teams from the Emergency Situations Ministry’s rescue service, along with 1 combat unit from the Yerevan fire and rescue squad, arrived swiftly at the scene. Officers from the 1st company of the patrol service of the Yerevan police, led by Sergeant Harutyun Grigoryan, were also dispatched to the location. A duty group of emergency medical service doctors was also promptly sent to the area.
The rescuers and police found the suspicious backpack at the site and are currently awaiting the arrival of specialized bomb disposal personnel from the ministry. Staff from the Central Police Department are also on site. The patrol officers have cordoned off the area and are waiting for the bomb squad to arrive, after which it will be determined whether there is a real threat posed by the backpack.
