COVID-19 Pandemic Situation in Armenia Worsening

Georg Simonyan, the Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia, shared on his Facebook page: "Dear compatriots, the situation in the Republic of Armenia due to the Covid-19 pandemic is worsening continuously. In Yerevan and the regions of Armenia, 14 medical centers have been fully or partially repurposed as Covid centers.

Out of the 1798 available hospital beds, 1563 are already occupied (87%). Around 700 patients are in severe condition, with 125 in critical condition, and 53 patients are connected to artificial lung ventilation devices.

Emergency medical teams are working under extreme pressure, responding to 2000-3000 calls daily."
