Erdogan Ready to Meet with Taliban
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has announced that Turkey is open to any form of cooperation for the sake of peace in Afghanistan, the welfare of fellow citizens residing in the country, as well as protecting its interests.
“Regardless of who is in power in that country, Turkey will support brotherly Afghanistan in both good and difficult times,” he said.
Erdogan stated that Turkey welcomes the moderate and balanced statements made by Taliban leaders following their rise to power in the country.
The Turkish leader confirmed his willingness to hold a meeting with the leaders of the Taliban movement. “We had previously announced that we could host Taliban leaders. We are prepared to do so today as well,” said the President of Turkey.
