Turkey Withdraws from Managing Kabul Airport but May Assist Taliban
Turkey has abandoned its intention to take over the management of Kabul's airport, but is ready to provide assistance to the Taliban radical movement in technical support and security, should such a request be made. This was reported by Reuters on Monday, citing sources from Turkish security forces, as reported by TASS.
“If the Taliban requests technical assistance, Turkey can provide support in the areas of equipment and security for the airport,” said one of the agency's sources. According to him, against the backdrop of 'complete chaos' at the air terminal, the process of the 'Turkish soldiers taking over management' has 'automatically ceased.'
