Russia's Foreign Ministry Comments on Azerbaijan's Potential Observer Status in CSTO
Azerbaijan has not submitted an application for observer status in the CSTO. This was announced by Alexander Bikantov, Deputy Director of the Press and Information Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"CSTO member states are open to expanding the organization’s external relations," he stated. It was noted that such decisions are made by consensus. He added that enhancing equal cooperation with these countries would contribute to strengthening security and confidence in the region covered by CSTO responsibilities.
