Ambassadors of Russia, France, and the USA Refuse to Visit Shushi in Azerbaijan
On July 10, the ambassadors of 46 countries were invited by the Azerbaijani government to visit Shushi, but the ambassadors from three nations—the USA, France, and Russia—were notably absent. These ambassadors declined the official invitation from Baku and refused to travel to Shushi. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani media.
According to local media reactions, the refusal of the three ambassadors to participate in the trip has caused significant unrest, with the event being labeled a "demarche" and the three great powers accused of having a "pro-Armenian" stance.
Azerbaijan's Assistant to the President for Foreign Policy Hikmet Hajiyev stated that the diplomatic corps' visit to Shushi was organized at the personal directive of President Ilham Aliyev.
