Newborn Found on a Street in Gyumri, Born No More Than 6 Hours Ago: Physician
This morning, passersby found a newborn baby wrapped in a blanket under the fence of one of the houses near the Gyumri bus station. They alerted emergency services, and the baby was taken to the Austrian Children's Hospital. This was reported to Tert.am by Margarita Harutyunyan, a physician in the hospital's intensive care unit.
Harutyunyan noted that a passerby noticed movement, approached, and saw that it was a newborn boy. “The baby is now with us; he was brought in cold, bruised, with rare heartbeats and low blood pressure. His health is now improving,” the doctor said, adding that the baby was born no more than 6 hours ago, and the umbilical cord was still wet.
Harutyunyan also mentioned that the child's identity has not yet been established, and the police are investigating the matter.
