Alexander Sirunyan on Cases of Bribery with Fake Banknotes
Attorney Alexander Sirunyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Dear compatriots, anyone who received bribes in fake money and was deceived, please contact us for assistance. Let’s punish the fraudsters together.” In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Sirunyan stated that his post was merely a joke. “But only half of it was a joke. I know that such cases have occurred, based on my information in Gyumri. My suggestion was just to come forward, and I will take you to the police. Now they are sitting deceived, but they cannot complain because they will be judged anyway. According to my information, the bribes were taken on the day of the election, and no one had the opportunity to verify during that time, but now they cannot complain either. What I wrote contained a joke; I wanted to say: come forward, I'll guide you to the police. It’s better to tell the truth and get probation, but let the real criminals be punished.”
The advisor to the Prosecutor General, Gor Abrahamyan, said in an interview with the media that there were no reports of bribery with fake banknotes, but he promised to double-check the information.
