Protesters March from Government Building to Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The participants of the protest organized by the "I Have Honor" alliance marched from the government building to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where they continue their gathering.
During the protest, the head of the Republican Party's youth organization, Hayk Mamijanyan, stated that according to circulating rumors, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Ayvazyan has submitted his resignation.
"He has no right to resign; he should come out and explain to us what secret agreement exists and what kind of minister is not aware of the negotiations," he noted.
Recall that on May 19, former Armenian ambassador to the Holy See, Mikael Minasyan, wrote on his Facebook page that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is planning to sign a tripartite document that would concede five villages in Tavush and one village in Ararat to Azerbaijan until the final demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
According to him, Pashinyan had verbally promised this concession to Aliyev back on January 11, but attempted to delay the timeline for fulfilling this promise later, justifying that he was unaware of impending elections at the time of making the promise. In response, Aliyev invaded Syunik and Gegharkunik.
Pashinyan sought to find protection in the Kremlin, where two questions were raised: why he made promises if he wouldn't fulfill them, and what he expects from the Kremlin.
Minasyan asserts that work on this document is complete, it will be signed soon and published. He claims that the document also has a secret annex, which stipulates the establishment of a bilateral commission for demarcation and the transfer of six villages with vague wording.
Today, during the government session on March 20, Pashinyan essentially did not deny the existence of this document, and moreover, stated that he intends to sign it as it "fully aligns with Armenia's interests."
