New Demands and Concessions Directed at Armenia are Expanding: Tigran Abrahamyan

According to Tigran Abrahamyan, the head of the 'Henaket' analytical center, Azerbaijan has managed to bring to the forefront the issue of transferring maps of mined fields from the territories seized from Artsakh. He stated this on his Facebook page.

'In Baku, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov announced that humanitarian issues should be resolved at an accelerated pace, highlighting the necessity of returning prisoners of war and the remains of the deceased, as well as transferring minefield maps to Azerbaijan,' he wrote.

During a press conference, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan has fulfilled its obligations regarding the return of prisoners of war. It appears that Azerbaijan has indeed succeeded in placing the issue of transferring minefield maps from the occupied territories of Artsakh at the forefront.

Despite the Russian diplomat mentioning the importance of returning prisoners of war, which is considered crucial for us, it is worth noting that all these issues were discussed in the same context. This is the case even though the provisions regarding prisoners of war, captives, and remains differ from those of the minefield maps and have not yet been completed as per the trilateral statement of November 9.

Moreover, Lavrov also mentioned that the Armenian authorities recognize the need to address the issues raised by Azerbaijan and have already taken preliminary steps in this direction. However, it is still unclear what steps the Russian Foreign Minister is referring to.

It turns out that Azerbaijan continues to delay the fulfillment of obligations assumed under the trilateral statement, demanding new concessions from Armenia in exchange for complete implementation. Furthermore, the new demands and concessions directed at Armenia are increasingly expanding,' he wrote.
