Gyumri's Khachatryans Welcome Their 13th Child, Named Misak in Honor of a Hero

The Khachatryan family from Gyumri welcomed their 13th child yesterday. In honor of the late Misak Khachatryan, who perished during the 44-day war, they have named the newborn Misak.

The baby boy was born at the Gyumri maternity hospital, weighing 3 kilograms and 900 grams. The family already has 6 daughters and 7 sons, with talented children growing up at home, including a painter and a musician. The eldest daughter is 21 years old.

Misak's mother, Lilit Khachatryan, shared with Aravot.am that the late Misak was her sister-in-law's son. He was only 19 years old and the youngest in his family, having two sisters. After months of searching, DNA testing confirmed in February that Misak had died. His father, a high-ranking military officer, participated in the first Artsakh war and passed away when the boy was just 3 years old.

Misak's relatives had held onto hope for a long time, thinking he might still be alive in captivity. However, it was revealed that he died on the road from Ara Mountain to Jabrail. They had been taken from the Ara Mountain area to Jabrail for a combat mission when an attack commenced, during which Misak was killed in action.
