Turkish Spokesman: Response to Biden's Statement on Armenian Genocide Will Come in Various Forms
Ankara will not leave unanswered U.S. President Joe Biden's recognition of the Armenian Genocide that occurred in the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, in an interview with Reuters.
“The response will come in various forms, types, and levels in the coming days and months,” said the spokesman. He did not elaborate, however, on whether the United States would restrict access to the Incirlik Air Base for American forces, which is used to support operations of the international anti-terror coalition.
