Ankara Expresses Discontent: Erdogan's Representative Advises Biden to Look at U.S. History
The official representative of Turkey’s President Ibrahim Kalin advised U.S. President Joe Biden on Saturday to look at the history of the United States following his acknowledgment of the Armenian Genocide in a recent statement.
“We strongly condemn and reject the U.S. President's statement, which solely reflects the slanders of certain circles hostile to our country. We advise the U.S. President to look at his country's history,” Kalin wrote on his Twitter page.
President Biden referred to events at the beginning of the 20th century as the “Armenian Genocide.” His predecessors in the presidential office had avoided using this term.
