Tree Felling and Playground Dismantling: Arabkir Mayor Appeals to Prosecutor's Office
The head of the Arabkir administrative district, Aram Danielyan, has appealed to the Prosecutor's Office to investigate the legality of the grounds for the privatization of the land located at 79A Baghramyan Street. The information was reported by the press service of the Arabkir administrative district on its official Facebook page.
Recently, widespread reports in the media and social networks indicated that tree felling and the dismantling of a children's playground were taking place in the green area at 79A Baghramyan Street.
The study revealed that approximately 500 square meters of the area have been privatized by a private individual. Therefore, the works are being carried out not in a community-owned property but in a private area, which means that the Yerevan community does not have the legal authority to intervene in the matter, according to the statement.
Despite this circumstance, the administrative district leadership has decided to approach the Prosecutor's Office, considering that the aforementioned area is a small park.
The statement emphasizes that the mentioned park area is evidently included in the list of restrictions provided by Article 60 of the RA Land Code, highlighting the necessity to investigate the issue. The municipality recalls that a similar issue had previously arisen in the “New Arabkir” park (Molokan Park), which also led to a criminal case being initiated.
