Russia Demands CIS Countries to Return Illegal Immigrants by June 15
The Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Gorovoy, has addressed representatives of CIS countries, requesting them to take action regarding illegal migrants currently in Russia. He indicated that failure to do so could lead to deportation issues. This was reported by TACC.
In his address to the CIS countries, he stated, “There are many citizens who are illegally present in our country today. If we do not rectify this number together by June 15, as demanded by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, these individuals will face penalties, including possible deportation,” said the official.
A representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced data from the Russian MIA. According to this data, there are more than 332,000 migrants from Uzbekistan, 247,000 from Tajikistan, 152,000 from Ukraine, 120,000 from Azerbaijan, 115,000 from Kyrgyzstan, and 61,000 from Armenia in Russia.
