Thank You for the Wonderful Game: Icelanders Congratulate Armenians

The Football Federation of Iceland has congratulated the Armenian national team for their victory in the second round of the World Cup qualifying stage. The congratulatory message was published on the official website of the Icelandic Federation.

"We congratulate the Armenian national team on the wonderful game in Yerevan. We tried our best, but we need to work harder. Thank you for the beautiful game... We will meet in October," the message states.

It is worth noting that the Armenian national football team faced off against Iceland at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium. Thanks to the excellent skills and precise shots of Tigran Barseghyan and Khoren Bayramyan, the Armenian team won 2-0, achieving a significant victory over the Icelandic squad in Group J of the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
