Snow Falls in 7 Regions of Armenia, Lars Closed: Road Situation
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and to the K'ari Lake are closed in the Aragatsotn region. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trailer trucks, and is difficult for others.
In the Syunik region, there is black ice in some parts of the Sisian-Zanger road and the Meghri Mountain area.
Snow is falling in the Shirak, Kotayk, and Lori regions, in the twists of the Dilijan area in Tavush, and in the cities of Sevan, Gavar, and Jambarak in Gegharkunik, as well as in the Syunik cities of Sisian, Goris, and Kajaran, and in the Aragatsotn region in the areas of Aragats, Aparan, and Talin.
Regarding Lars, according to information from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed. There are approximately 632 trucks stranded on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
