The Office of the President of Armenia Issues New Statement
The Office of the President of Armenia has issued a statement regarding President Armen Sarkissian's intention to appeal to the Constitutional Court.
'Various political forces, figures, and individuals have made a range of comments, clarifications, and analyses regarding the deadlines for the President's appeal to the Constitutional Court. By exploiting this issue, a misconception is being formed that March 9th is the deadline for an appeal to the CC. We inform you that such opinions are unfounded – there is no deadline for appealing to the CC, and the President of the Republic will soon appeal to the Constitutional Court to request a determination on the compliance of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen with the Constitution, as has already been announced. The President once again calls for calm, sobriety, and restraint from everyone,' the statement reads.
