What to Expect from March 16: The Ministry of Defense Has Made a Decision
«Oratert» has learned that the Ministry of Defense of Armenia plans to conduct military exercises in the Armavir region starting from March 16. This is particularly noteworthy given the current situation in Armenia, characterized by tensions between the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, as well as the conditions along Armenia's borders.
At the same time, it should be noted that Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises are also taking place during this period, lasting six weeks, following the previous drills that concluded on February 12.
«Zhoxovurd» newspaper attempted to obtain a comment from the Armenian Ministry of Defense regarding the upcoming exercises but received no response to our phone calls.
The news of the exercises is encouraging, as it indicates efforts by the Armenian army to strengthen itself. However, it is striking that this decision comes amid the complete disarray of the Armenian army, which has been wounded in war. The leadership of the General Staff of the Armed Forces is demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while the Ministry of Defense does not publicly share this view.
It is also worth reminding that the relationship between Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan has been tense since the minister's appointment, and this negative dynamic significantly impacts the current internal instability within the army.
These details were reported by «Zhoxovurd» newspaper.
