Citizens Storm Central Municipality, Disrupt Normal Operations: Statement
Today, a group of citizens stormed the office of the head of the Central administrative district, claiming that people were being "illegally forced to participate in a rally scheduled at Republic Square." This was reported by the Central administrative district.
We state that this claim is not true. No one can force municipal employees, including those of the municipality, to participate in any gathering. At the same time, municipal employees are free to exercise their right, as enshrined in the Constitution of Armenia and legislation on gatherings, after working hours.
We urge everyone not to fall for provocations, not to spread misinformation, and to maintain calmness,” the statement reads.
