Assistance Provided to the Enemy: Criminal Case Opened in Artsakh Over Alleged State Treason
On December 10, 2020, NGOs operating in the Republic of Artsakh submitted a report to the prosecutor's office regarding a crime. The report included information about alleged cases of providing assistance to the armed forces of the adversary during the war unleashed by the Republic of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh, which began on September 27, 2020, by a group of Artsakh citizens whose identities remain undisclosed.
To ensure a complete, objective, and multifaceted investigation of the mentioned cases, a criminal case was opened on February 15 of this year under Article 310, Part 1 of the Artsakh Criminal Code in the special investigative department of the Artsakh General Prosecutor's Office. According to the jurisdiction of the investigation, it has been sent to the Investigative Committee of Artsakh.
Notice: A suspect or accused in the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Artsakh, with a legally binding court verdict.
