Israel Offered to Sell Weapons to Armenia in 2015, Ambassador Says
“My recall was a diplomatic step. You know that Israel sells weapons to Azerbaijan,” Armenian Ambassador to Israel Armen Smbatyan expressed this belief during an event organized by the Armenian Jewish community in commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. His comments were made in an interview with Aravot.am and Armenpress. Smbatyan was recalled in October by order of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the war.
Smbatyan also noted that Israel had offered to sell weapons to Armenia. “In the same years, when Israel offered to Azerbaijan, it also made an offer to us. We do not say everything correctly. They made an offer, but Armenia declined it. It was about the year 2015,” Smbatyan stated.
