Restoration of Stepanakert Dramatic Theatre Building
On December 28, Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan received the acting troupe of the Yerevan State Musical Theatre named after Sos Sargsyan, led by the theatre's director Arman Navasardyan.
The head of state expressed gratitude to the theatre staff for being in Artsakh during the difficult period and for putting on performances for children, emphasizing that such cultural events are the best way to bring some positivity to the lives of children.
He presented the progress of work being carried out in the post-war period, noting that all efforts are directed towards clarifying the fate of our compatriots who are killed, missing, or captured, as well as addressing the issues faced by citizens who have become homeless and those with various social problems.
“In general, culture has a unique and psychologically significant role in public life. It is no coincidence that numerous programs have been revised due to the war unleashed by Azerbaijan, but the program for the restoration of the building of the Vahram Papazyan Dramatic Theatre in Stepanakert will be fully approved at the beginning of the year, and it will be restored within the specified timeframes,” said the President of Artsakh.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, National Theatre Director Arman Navasardyan noted that they are very impressed by the President's initiative for the restoration of the theatre in Stepanakert, as it is difficult to imagine the future of a nation without culture. Navasardyan expressed his readiness to visit Artsakh regularly and to stage theatrical performances.
During the meeting, the President also answered questions concerning the actors.
