Tragic Incident in Yerevan: 22-Year-Old Driver Hits Two Young Boys, One Dies and the Other Hospitalized
On December 27, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 1:30 PM, 22-year-old Grigor Muradkhanyan drove his Opel Astra and hit two boys who were walking on the newly constructed section of the North-South highway, near house number 162 on Shahumyan Street.
According to photojournalist Garik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene. Instead, along with another citizen passing by, he took the children to the hospital. Upon noticing an ambulance en route, they transferred the children to that vehicle and rushed them to the “St. Astvatsamayr” Medical Center.
Unfortunately, one of the children lost consciousness and died before reaching the hospital, while the other child's life is currently critical, with doctors battling to save him.
The photojournalist also reported that prior to the collision, the Opel exited the roadway, crashed into a basalt curb, drove forward, collided with a concrete retaining wall, breaking it, and shortly thereafter, the tragic accident occurred.
