Real Number of Fallen Police Officers Concealed and Secretly Buried, Vladimir Gasparyan
The real number of fallen police officers has been concealed, and they must answer to me because they were my boys. This was stated by former Armenian Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan in an interview with reporters in the yard of the Saint Gayane Church.
Commenting on the recent disturbing reports regarding the deaths of police officers in Shushi, Gasparyan asserted that he is a claimant in this matter. “I was there; I know what happened. I will demand answers, whether soon or late; I believe it will be soon. I wouldn’t say they were taken under deception. The army had lost its governance; it was ungovernable because when citizens interfere in the activities of officers and generals and indulge in whims, the souls of people are glorified when police officers beat others, this is an extension of that glorification of the soul. They must answer to me because they are my boys; I have been with them for many years,” said Gasparyan.
He also emphasized that the fallen police officers were secretly buried. “Moreover, I say, they have hidden it, but that these boys were buried without military honors, secretly. I believe it should be offensive for the entire system. They didn't even disclose their names,” said the former police chief.
Referring to recent activities of the law enforcement agencies, Gasparyan stressed that they should be in their place and operate within the law. He also addressed the reports suggesting that Azerbaijan offered Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan $5 billion for handing over Artsakh. “I know it’s $6 billion; I know that there was talk about this $6 billion during Levon Ter-Petrosyan's time, and it also happened during the terms of the second and third presidents. Whether to believe it or not is not the issue; there needs to be an investigation. I expect that the prosecutor’s office should operate according to the law, not whims,” he stated.
