Nikol Pashinyan and Vitaly Balasanyan Meet: Details.
According to reports from the newspaper, yesterday, Secretary of the Security Council of Nagorno-Karabakh, Vitaly Balasanyan, met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Based on our sources, the discussion between Secretary Balasanyan and Pashinyan revolved around issues concerning military construction, security, and the situation that has developed in Artsakh.
Our sources also indicate that the political situation in Armenia and Artsakh, along with possible solutions to overcome the current crises, was discussed during the Nikol Pashinyan-Vitaly Balasanyan meeting. We have been trying to confirm this information from both sides for the past two days.
The press secretary of the Prime Minister, Mane Gevorgyan, has left our phone calls unanswered for two days. Meanwhile, Secretary Vitaly Balasanyan responded to our inquiry with a brief statement, denying that he had met with the Prime Minister: “I did not meet,” he said, refusing to answer other questions.
It is worth noting that, according to a decree signed by the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, on December 2, Vitaly Balasanyan was appointed as the Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh. Balasanyan had previously served as the Secretary of the Security Council from November 2016 until June of this year. After the presidential elections in Artsakh, Samvel Babayan was appointed Secretary of the Security Council, who was relieved of his duties on November 16 at his own request.
