Shooting in Artsakh: Askeran Resident Fires Shots During Dispute
On December 19 and later on December 20, a dispute arose among residents of Askeran city, specifically between M.H., A.A., and S.D. from the nearby Ivanian community. During the altercation, M.H. fired multiple shots at S.D. using an illegal AKMS-type assault rifle from his vehicle, intending to unlawfully take S.D.'s life. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, the crime was not completed.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated and is being processed by the second investigative division of the Artsakh Investigative Committee's regional investigative department under Article 245, Part 1, and Article 33-103, Part 1 of the Artsakh Criminal Code. Urgent investigative and procedural actions are being carried out to clarify the circumstances of the case.
Note: A person suspected or accused of a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Artsakh Criminal Procedure Code, and a legally binding court verdict.
