Russian Peacekeepers Sent to Nagorno-Karabakh Arrive in Goris
Units of the Russian 15th Separate Peacekeeping Brigade, deployed to the conflict zone in Nagorno-Karabakh, have arrived in the Armenian city of Goris after a journey of more than 300 kilometers. This was announced to reporters on Thursday by the Russian Ministry of Defense, as reported by TASS.
“The column of units of the 15th Separate Peacekeeping Brigade, which arrived to participate in peacekeeping operations in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, has reached the concentration area in Goris city after a journey of over 300 kilometers,” the military department stated.
The units include contract soldiers who have undergone special training for peacekeeping missions. They have specifically studied the norms of international humanitarian law in armed conflicts.
“The peacekeeping contingent is equipped with modern weapons, military, and special equipment, including BTR-82A ‘Tiger’ and ‘Typhoon’ armored personnel carriers,” the Russian Ministry of Defense added.
