My Step Faction Issues Statement

In the current historical and political context, accepting the announced conditions was the only option to avoid the complete loss of Artsakh and thousands of human casualties. This is stated in a statement issued by the My Step faction.

“Bowing our heads before the glorious memory of the fallen soldiers, volunteers, and those who participated in combat operations of the Artsakh heroic war, sharing in the deep sorrow of the families, friends, and relatives of the fallen, and considering the post-war and ceasefire-related political events in Armenia and Artsakh, the My Step faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia declares:

• The analysis of the current military actions shows that the Armenian people unified their efforts to fight not only against Azerbaijan but also one of the world's largest armed forces, equipped with modern weaponry and limitless human resources, mercenary terrorists, and special forces units recruited from various countries.
• Particular heroism was demonstrated along the entire front line during the forty-five-day war, which made it possible to prevent the genocidal atrocities unleashed against the Armenian people.
• All-Armenian potential was involved in supporting the army during military operations.
• We acknowledge that the military actions took place alongside major geopolitical events caused by security challenges, resulting in the failure of all international efforts aimed at establishing a ceasefire, including the multiple attempts of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.
• Accepting the announced conditions in the current historical and political situation was the only way to avoid the complete loss of Artsakh and thousands of human casualties.

The My Step faction believes that the public must receive answers to all questions concerning it. At the same time, the faction does not intend to participate in any meeting aimed at undermining stability in Armenia and risking the lives of those on the front line.

Furthermore, before discussing the validity of the well-known statement about ending the Karabakh war, we propose that the opposition clearly declare to the entire Armenian public and the world that they:

1. Support the cancellation of Russian mediation,
2. Support the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the line of contact,
3. Support the continuation of the war.

After making this statement, the opposition forces are also obliged to present a roadmap for achieving victory in the proposed renewed war.
