Entry of Extremists Poses Threat to Entire Region, Says Iranian Foreign Minister
Iran is concerned about the human losses and damage to civilians in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, reports the Isna agency. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a conversation with reporters.
“We are also worried about extremist groups entering the conflict zone, as this poses a threat not only to Iran but also to the peace and stability of the entire region. Therefore, we believe that this war must be ended,” Zarif said.
Commenting on Iran's plans for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Zarif noted that the warring parties, along with Russia and Turkey, are studying the plan, and Iran is awaiting a response.
Azerbaijan, under the auspices of Turkey and involving terrorist groups brought from Syria and Libya, has unleashed a war against Artsakh since September 27, employing its entire arsenal, targeting peaceful civilians, and using prohibited weapons such as cluster munitions and phosphorus weapons. Russia, France, and Syria have stated that they possess undeniable evidence of terrorists being transferred to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone by Azerbaijan and Turkey, with these transfers carried out using civilian airports and aircraft. Two terrorists have been detained in Armenia.
