Only 4 of 29 Armenian Soldiers' Bodies Handed Over to Armenian Side Identified by Relatives

Rafael Vardanyan, head of the Investigative Committee’s forensic department, stated during a press conference that only 4 of the 29 bodies of Armenian soldiers handed over to the Armenian side have been recognized by their relatives.

He mentioned that the investigative team participated in the process of handing over the bodies of the deceased soldiers, and investigative-judicial actions were carried out on-site. “On the same day, forensic examinations were already conducted by the Ministry of Health’s forensic experts,” he added.

Rafael Vardanyan noted that some bodies were charred, and others were missing body parts due to explosions. “However, at this moment, we have not received conclusions regarding everyone. According to preliminary data, we currently have no information about tortured or deliberately mutilated bodies. As a result of the measures taken, relatives have recognized 4 of the 29 bodies,” he stated.
