Iranian Parliament Members Visit Artsakh Border
A group of Iranian parliamentary members visited the border of Nagorno-Karabakh yesterday, according to a report by the Iranian Mehr news agency, citing a statement from Abolfazl Amouei, an official representative of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Republic's Parliament.
“This morning, several members of the Parliamentary Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy traveled to the border area adjacent to Nagorno-Karabakh. The visit aimed to examine the border and discuss issues related to the recent events in Nagorno-Karabakh and the developments between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” his statement said.
He mentioned that “during the visit, the consequences of the developments in Nagorno-Karabakh on Iran's border areas were studied.” After Azerbaijan's military operations, over 20 mortar shells have landed in the Aslanduz region of Iran's northwestern Ardebil province. Tehran has emphasized the need for a resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through ceasefire and dialogue, as well as warning both sides about the repercussions of accidental fire in Iranian territory.
