The claims presented by a representative of the investigative body regarding Andranik Tevanyan allegedly acquiring a document containing state secrets for a reward of $622,000, translating it, and passing it to a representative of a foreign intelligence service, as well as the assertion that this document was handed to him by Aregnaz Manukyan, do not correspond to reality. This was stated in a press release by the defense team.

In particular, such factual circumstances are not present in the charges brought against any individual, and there are no confirming evidence in the materials of the criminal proceedings. Therefore, the defense completely denies the allegations made in the aforementioned statements.

Furthermore, the public presentation of such unverified information creates public bias, as it shapes an opinion among the public regarding the alleged commission of a crime and the guilt of individuals, which is not substantiated by the materials of the criminal proceedings.

Thus, we urge the investigative body to respect the presumption of innocence and not present as established fact any information that not only does not correspond to the charges brought against Andranik Tevanyan and Aregnaz Manukyan and the materials of the criminal proceedings but could also shape a biased public opinion regarding their guilt.

The defense will further present its position exclusively within the framework of legally established procedural procedures, maintaining both its procedural obligations and its duty to protect the rights and legal interests of its clients.
