VIDEO: I Condemn It: Julhakyan on Publication of Personal Data by the Investigative Committee

After the discussion on the candidacy of Vilen Gabrielyan for the position of the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly, the parliament moved on to the question of the candidate for the position of the Chairman of the Standing Committee on State-Legal Affairs. The ruling Civil Contract party proposed the candidacy of Arusyak Julhakyan for this position.

During the questioning phase, opposition member Gegham Manukyan inquired about Julhakyan's stance regarding the publication of personal data by the Investigative Committee related to the recent arrest of Hovik Abrahamyan’s son.

“If you want to hear me use that specific word—condemnation, yes, I condemn it. This seems to not be the first time we have an issue regarding statements where the right to protection of personal data is recorded. I don’t want to necessarily see intent here; perhaps it’s a matter of professionalism,” noted Julhakyan.
