Grandfather Beats 6 and 4-Year-Old Grandchildren with a Stick in Tavush; One in Critical Condition
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on August 18 at around 16:20, the police station in Ijevan received a call from the "Ijevan" medical center reporting that a child had been brought in with abdominal pain and acute gastroenterocolitis with unspecified questions.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a police operational group led by the senior inspector of the community police division headed to the hospital.
The police determined that the injured child was 6-year-old Sergey H., a resident of one of the villages in Tavush province. While doctors were fighting for the child's life, police in Ijevan found out that Sergey H.'s grandfather, 58-year-old Samvel H., who also resides in the same village, had beaten both Sergey H. and 4-year-old Nairi Gh. with a stick, causing Nairi Gh. to be hospitalized shortly after.
According to G. Shamshyan's sources, one of the children was transferred to the "Arabkir" medical center with a critical diagnosis.
A criminal case was initiated in the investigative department of the Ijevan police under Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code (causing serious harm to health intentionally), and Samvel H. has been arrested.
