Nephew of 'Liska' Escapes After Reckless Driving Incident in Goris
On August 2nd, a serious traffic accident occurred in the Syunik region. Around 21:30, the driver of a Mercedes with license plate 79 QQ 077 lost control while traveling in Goris city on the Artsakh highway, crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding with a Niva and a VAZ 2106 vehicle. According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, preliminary reports indicate that fortunately, there were no injuries resulting from the accident.
According to media sources, the drivers of the VAZ and Niva were present at the scene, while the Mercedes driver fled the accident site. The Mercedes was driven by Mayis Khachaturyan, a resident of Goris and the nephew of Suren Khachaturyan, a former governor of Syunik known as 'Liska'. In Goris, he is more commonly recognized by the nickname 'Hopopi Mayo.'
