I Was Illegally Dismissed from the State Revenue Committee, Saying 'You Are Not One of Us': Fartmanyan
I have been illegally dismissed from the State Revenue Committee. This was stated by the candidate for the position of chairman of the parliamentary committee on financial and budgetary issues, MP Hayk Fartmanyan of the ‘Strong Armenia’ faction, during the discussion of the election of the committee chairman on August 12 in the National Assembly, in response to a question from ruling Civil Contract faction member Sisak Gabrielyan.
“I have not held a political position. I was employed solely for my professional knowledge, and then I was illegally dismissed. If you study the structure of the SRC (State Revenue Committee), you will find that they have combined two divisions in the Western Customs Administration that have no connection with each other, just to dismiss me from my position,” said Fartmanyan.
The opposition MP stated that he was simply told to write a resignation letter and leave. “They told me directly, ‘you are not one of us,’ and this happened during your government in 2019. Many former employees of the SRC will confirm my words. The same was said to some of them as well. For exactly one year, from 2018 to February 2019, I was harassed. I turned to the courts, up to the Court of Cassation, which determined that I was illegally dismissed from my job,” the MP said.
