Russian Opposition Party Yabloko to Appeal Removal from Elections
The Russian Yabloko party has received the full text of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation's decision, which annulled the registration of the party's candidates for the State Duma elections. A participant in the legal proceedings has stated that representatives from Yabloko are now reviewing the decision to prepare an appeal.
On August 10, the Supreme Court of Russia granted a suit by Alexey Zhuravlyov's Rodina party, demanding the annulment of the registration of Yabloko's candidates. According to previously published information, significant portions of Rodina's demands related to alleged violations of intellectual property legislation. Yabloko was also accused of receiving foreign funding.
The party intends to appeal the Supreme Court's decision within the set timeframe.
