Moscow Court Fines Telegram 14.6 Million Rubles
The Tagansky District Court of Moscow has imposed a total fine of 14.6 million rubles on Telegram Messenger Inc. for failing to remove prohibited information as of August 12.
The court fined the company 7 million rubles for not deleting prohibited content a second time. Additionally, fines of 3.8 million rubles were assigned for two more violations. Consequently, the total fine imposed on Telegram amounts to 14.6 million rubles.
Earlier, in June, the same court had fined Telegram 3.5 million rubles for failing to fulfill obligations imposed on social network owners. At the end of May, the company was also penalized with 7 million rubles for not removing extremist content from the platform.
