Ukraine Offers Support for Azerbaijan's Territorial Integrity
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has expressed deep concern over the escalation of tensions along the Azerbaijan-Armenia border, which has resulted in shelling in the Tovuz region.
Ukraine's MFA called on both sides to make maximum efforts to resolve the situation and to seek peaceful solutions.
“We urge the parties to resolve the conflict based on internationally recognized principles, particularly the UN Security Council resolutions No. 822, 853, 874, and 884 adopted in 1993. The Ukrainian side expresses its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the statement said.
Notably, Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia party, has responded to the statements from the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Georgia, writing on his Facebook page: “The ambassadors of Georgia and Ukraine should be summoned by the Armenian MFA to provide explanations.”
