Fountains in Armenia Will Not Be Operated Until the End of the Pandemic: Hakob Karapetyan
This year, the fountains in Yerevan and other regions will not be turned on, and they will remain off until the pandemic is over. This was stated by Hakob Karapetyan, the press secretary of the Yerevan mayor, in an interview with NEWS.am.
He noted that this decision is based on the decree of the Prime Minister’s Office. “At the end of March, the municipality received guidance signed by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Suren Papikyan, which states that ‘the use of fountain systems is prohibited until the final end of the pandemic situation.’”
According to Karapetyan, the rationale for this decision is justified from a medical perspective, as it poses a risk of spreading the infection or represents a risk factor.
