Dissatisfaction at Gazprom Armenia: Significant Layoffs Expected
A recent article from the newspaper 'Zhamanak' reports growing dissatisfaction among employees of Gazprom Armenia. There has been a meeting with staff where they were warned of significant layoffs on the horizon. Previously, plans were in place to cut around a thousand jobs from the entire workforce, but now that number has reportedly doubled.
In every administrative district, only one or two employees will remain from various departments in Gazprom's offices. Sources informed the media that the workforce in each office is expected to decrease by approximately 50 percent. Furthermore, those who are not laid off will see their salaries reduced by 20 percent. The company justifies these cuts by citing the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
