During State of Emergency, Medical Assistance and Services Organizations Will Come Under Ministry's Management
The project to amend the law on the legal regime of a state of emergency, adopted on March 21, 2012, is included in the agenda of the government's current session.
The project proposes that during a state of emergency, the management powers of organizations providing medical assistance and services to the population (regardless of ownership form) will be transferred to the authorized body of the Republic of Armenia's healthcare sector, except for military medical institutions under the Ministry of Defense. This transfer will be carried out within the scope and framework defined by the decision to declare a state of emergency.
During a state of emergency, the organization of medical assistance and services to the population will be conducted in accordance with the orders of the head of the authorized body of the healthcare sector. Failure to comply with these orders will result in liability as stipulated by law.
According to the changes, healthcare workers who do not have the necessary specialization and qualifications, or who have not undergone retraining, as well as final-year clinical interns, will be required to undergo the appropriate retraining or be involved in the provision of medical assistance and services to the population by order of the head of the authorized body of the Republic of Armenia's healthcare sector.
