BHК MP's Office Searched: What Awaits Former ‘Tsarukyan’ Faction MPs
The newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’ reports: The National Security Service seems to have started a hunt for former MPs of the ‘Tsarukyan’ faction. It was revealed yesterday that former member Vanik Asatryan was detained in a bribery case.
However, ‘Zhoghovurd’ learned that the National Security Service continues to conduct searches in the homes or offices of former and current MPs. In a conversation with us, current BHК MP and former ‘Tsarukyan’ bloc MP Tigran Stepanyan mentioned that there had been a search at his office. “The office is not operational; it was closed immediately after the elections. They took some papers that had the names of people who were members of the party. That was all,” Stepanyan stated, emphasizing that he does not fear the actions of the NSS.
It turns out that former ‘Tsarukyan’ faction MPs Melik Manukyan and Hrant Davtyan are also not concerned that the NSS might come after them. “If they come, let them come; what can I say to them?” Manukyan remarked, while Hrant Davtyan noted that he has not been questioned, stating that he has done nothing for which he could be detained.
Additionally, former MP Vanik Asatryan was charged yesterday under Article 154.2 in connection with bribery.
