Anush Toranyan Wins Against Turkish Competitor and Elected as Paris Deputy Mayor
Anush Toranyan, representing the political force of Paris’ current mayor Anne Hidalgo, has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of Paris at the age of 29. She expressed her gratitude on her Twitter account for the trust placed in her, adding that she will be responsible for public life and public discussions.
Notably, in the election campaign for the Deputy Mayor position, Toranyan faced competition from AGNES Evrin, a Turkish national and Member of the European Parliament, who was the candidate from the Socialist Party.
Toranyan was born in France in 1991 and serves as the director of the Armenian General Benevolent Union's office in France.
