Constitutional Court Calls Urgent Meeting
According to information from "First News", simultaneously with the discussions on the Constitutional Court-related bill in the National Assembly, the Constitutional Court is currently holding a procedural meeting to schedule a hearing for the case against Robert Kocharian, which has been suspended based on his request. A decision has been made to set the hearing date for July 7.
It should be noted that this issue was not on the agenda of the procedural meeting and was added at the last moment.
Recall that Kocharian's legal team is contesting the constitutionality of Article 300.1 in the Constitutional Court, which pertains to Kocharian's immunity. The Constitutional Court has previously referred this matter to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the Venice Commission. The advisory opinions of both institutions have already been sent.
